When a sign is hung up proclaiming a new church is being established, it’s a signal that someone is trying to tell the truth and shine a light. As a church, we want to tell people the truth about Jesus Christ. When you come to any of our environments, we want to be the light of truth to you and your children.
Each week at Mountainview, we serve the experts in unconditional love: that would be YOU, the parent! Parents know that the minute a child is born someone immediately feels their heart beat differently than before. A love is established that will change the way lives are lived.
Now think about it. The idea that these two God-given institutions, the church and the family, should be separate entities has invaded our culture. We’re used to the separation of church and family. We want the yellow light of the church way over here. We just want to open it on Christmas, and Easter, and a few times each year to try and make sure God is on your side.
We want to keep the red of passionate families over there. If you ask, they’re all doing ‘fine.’ They love their kids. They stay up nights worrying about them. They just don’t know what to do about it all. They need some help. Doesn’t it seem like when churches are in trouble, so are families? Isn’t it true that when families flourish, inevitably the church is growing?
At Mountainview Community Christian Church, we exist for one reason: we care about families. We care about how kids grow up. We care about walking with people through all the messiness of life, and helping them build a relationship with Jesus Christ.
